Who serves a servant?
THE LAST GLASSWING KNIGHT, Sir Sengreen Le (they/them), is crestfallen and confused and a little bit furious that their lifelong master has abandoned them for no reason, ending their service together. Now, Sengreen has to contend with a new Moon Emperor who calls herself THE EMPYREAN MONARCH, Lin Xue (he/she). This stranger from a strange land is Lunarian, like Sengreen, but not in any way that Sengreen can understand. As if it weren't enough to navigate the shifting seas of palace politics in the Crescent Court, Sengreen has to stand their ground against Lin Xue, who says she wishes to be their friend.
She doesn't, of course.
All the same, Sengreen ends up entangled in the kingmaking game of Divinities with Lin Xue, which is not so different from the power plays of intimacy they level against each other, as uncomfortable as it is to acknowledge.
Sengreen, if nothing else, intends to win.
What a shame Lin Xue thinks he'll do the same.

AMADEUS VU is a lady, a lass, an empress of glass, and she is going to become divine if it’s the last thing she does. It’s her whole life’s worth. But while he lives on earth, he lives as a mortal man, though not a human one. SEVERIN LACANDOLA has the Divine Sight, and it is only through Seeing that he can tell who has been consuming The Human Folk of the Air, though Amadeus would also say he has been consuming The Fairy Folk So Very Fair.
To Severin,
“There is no such thing as holy,
there is no such thing as home.”
But Amadeus hopes to prove to him otherwise. Through celestial lies, through the worm’s demise, and through the divinity of love, if not trust, Amadeus and Severin engage each other in a dance that might lead to the end of them both. But if they’re together, that might be enough.
The libretto, which is traditionally the text of an opera, is coming out FEB 24TH, 2021 with Flower Press.
